Omron Foundation, Inc. Contributes $5,000 Towards North Central Illinois Tornado Rebuilding Efforts

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL (May 5, 2015)—OMRON Foundation, Inc. has contributed $5,000 to assist with longterm relief for those affected by the tornados that devastated areas in North Central Illinois in early April 2015. Donations in the amount of $2,500 each were made to the DeKalb County Community Foundation and Rochelle Area Community Foundation to assist the counties most affected by the storms.

“Our thoughts are with the families who lost loved ones and who are rebuilding their homes, businesses and communities after these storms,” said Nigel Blakeway, Omron Foundation President and CEO of Omron Management Center of America, Inc.

As relief efforts shift to long-term assistance, Omron Foundation aims to assist the residents of the communities who are in need of help rebuilding their community.

Kim Montgomery, Executive Director of the Rochelle Area Community Foundation, said, “As we move into our long-term recovery phase after the April 9th tornadoes, we are so grateful for the support of the Omron Foundation in recognizing that our community’s needs are ongoing.”

In addition to these donations by Omron Foundation, Omron employees in the United States are encouraged to support relief efforts by making individual donations which are matched by Omron Foundation within program guidelines.

“The DeKalb County Long Term Recovery Committee (DCLTRC) appreciates the financial support of the Omron Foundation through the DeKalb County Disaster Recovery Fund managed by the DeKalb County Community Foundation,” said Dan Templin, Executive Director, DeKalb County Community Foundation.

“The philanthropy of the Omron Corporation, its employees, and its Foundation will help the people in the Fairdale area in DeKalb County as they rebuild their lives as a result of the devastation the tornado caused on April 9,” Templin added. “We know they are humbled by the outpouring of care and support.
